CHAPTER 397.

AN ACT to incorporate the town of Gaithersburg,
|
 
|
in Montgomery county.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
 
|
of Maryland, That the citizens of the town of
|
 
|
Gaithersburg, in Montgomery county, be and they
|

are hereby created a body corporate by the name of a
|
body corpo-

" The Commissioners of Gaithersburg," with all the
|

powers and privileges of a body politic and corpo-

rate, and by said corporate name may have perpetual
|
 
|
succession, sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded
|
 
|
in any court of law or equity in said county, and
|
 
|
have and use a common seal.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. The limits of said town shall begin at a
|
 
|
stone planted on the west side of the Goshen road,
|
 
|
a little east of Diamond Hall, and run thence with
|
 
|
said road to the southern limits of the Metropolitan
|
 
|
Branch Railroad, thence with said railroad, on the
|
 
|
south side thereof, to a lot of land belonging to the
|
Limits.

Georgetown and Frederick road to a stone on Remas
|
 
|
G. Dorsey's land, thence with the outlines of said
|
 
|
Dorsey's land to the new cut road, known as the
|
 
|
Fitzgerald road, thence to a stone on Chestnut street,
|
 
|
thence by a straight line to a stone on the dividing
|
 
|
line between Wade and Lanahan, thence with said
|
 
|
line to the Frederick and Georgetown road, thence
|
 
|
across said road to a stone on a line between the
|
 
|
lands of Giles Eastern and Ignatius Thomas Fulks,
|
 
|
thence with said line to a stone, thence with a straight
|
 
|
line to the beginning.
|
 
|
SEC. 3. The citizens of said town having resided
|
 
|
therein six months previous to any election shall, on
|
 
|
the first Monday in May next, or as soon thereafter as
|
 
|
conveniently may be, and annually thereafter on the
|
