CHAPTER 384.

 

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners

 

of Talbot county to pay O. P. Sparks, late

 

Sheriff of Talbot county, for services rendered

 

in the enforcement of the oyster law, and to

 

pay certain persons therein named for their ser-

 

vices as special police during the trial of vio-

 

lators of the oyster laws, at Saint Michael's, in

 

Talbot county.

 

Whereas, in the trial of certain persons charged

 

with violation of the oyster law of the State, at

 

Saint Michael's, on the seventeenth day of April,

 

eighteen hundred and seventy-three, serious dis-

 

turbances were apprehended, the sheriff of the
county was directed by the State's Attorney of

Preamble.

said county, by letter dated April fourteenth,

 

eighteen hundred and seventy-three, to summon a

 

posse commitatus of one hundred men as a special

 

police, to preserve the peace during said trials;

 

and

 

Whereas said summons was duly made in obe-

 

dience to the orders of the State's Attorney by

 

said sheriff, and said citizens assembled in
