CHAPTER 370.
|
 
|
AN ACT to provide a sinking fund for the pay-
|
 
|
ment of the bonded debt of Dorchester county.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
 
|
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
|
 
|
Dorchester county be and they are hereby authorized
|

and directed to levy each year upon the tax-payers

lars, in addition to the ordinary expenses of said

county, to provide a sinking fund for the payment
of the bonded debt of said county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That such levy shall

be made until said bonded debt is discharged and
|

cancelled, and the proceeds shall, under the direction

the purchasing and cancellation of the outstanding

bonds of the county, or invested in first mortgage
or prior judgment lien on real estate in Dorchester

county, of, at least, double the assessed value of the

may find most favorable to the interests of said
|
 
|
county, and to no other purpose whatever; but the
|
 
|
said commissioners shall always purchase the bonds
|
 
|
of the county at a price not exceeding par when the
|
 
|
same are offered, in preference to investing said
|
