times prescribed in the Act of the General Assembly

hundred and thirty, chapter sixty-four, entitled "An
|
 
|
act to establish a House of Refuge for Juvenile De-
|
 
|
linquents," seven of which said managers shall con-
|
 
|
stitute a quorum for the transaction of business.
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall

CHAPTER 344.
|
 
|
AN ACT to enable the County Commissioners of
|
 
|
Calvert county to ascertain the financial condition
|
 
|
of said county, and to make provision for the pay-
|
 
|
ment of debts due by said county.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly
|
 
|
of Maryland, That all persons holding orders,
checks or drafts drawn by the County Commissioners
|
 
|
of Calvert county upon the collectors of county
|
Drafts— when
|
taxes of said county, shall present the same to said
|
presented.
|
County Commissioners during the first five days of
|
 
|
their session in April of each year, when they meet
|
 
|
to make the annual State and county levy; and it
|
 
|
shall be the duty of said County Commissioners to
|
 
|
make and preserve a memorandum of the number
|
 
|
of each order, check or draft so presented, the amount
|
 
|
thereof, the date of its issual, and the person to
|
 
|
whom issued ; and the said County Commissioners
|
 
|
are hereby authorized and empowered to levy upon
the assessable property of said county a sum of
|

money sufficient to pay the same, provided the

funds and solvent tax bills in the hands of the said

|
collectors appear to be insufficient for the purpose.
