actual expenses, which shall not in any one year ex-

ceed fifty dollars for a member of the board.

SEC. 24. And be it enacted, That in the event of
|
 
|
the failure of the County Commissioners to secure
|
 
|
the services of competent Road Commissioners upon
|
 
|
the terms prescribed in the last preceding section of
|
 
|
this act, they are hereby authorized to appoint proper
|
 
|
persons to act as Road Commissioners, which per-
|
 
|
sons shall be real estate owners in the district for
|
 
|
which they may be appointed, to whom they may
allow a compensation of two dollars per day for
|

each day they may be actually employed in the
|
 
|
supervision of repairs of the roads in their districts,
|
 
|
and the Road Commissioners to be thus appointed
|
 
|
shall have the same control over roads and bridges,
|
 
|
and organize their district boards in the same man-
|
 
|
ner as hereinbefore provided. All accounts for
|
 
|
moneys expended on account of roads, and for actual
|

expenses, or for compensation for commissioners,

itemized
|
shall be itemized, sworn to before a justice of the
|
 
|
peace of the county, and presented to the County
|
 
|
Commissioners for approval by the Road Commis-
|
 
|
sioners claiming.
|
 
|
SEC. 25. And be it enacted, That whenever any
|
 
|
highway, other than a county road, which is a pub-
|
 
|
lic convenience and is used by the public, should
|
 
|
require repairs and improvement, and the County
Commissioners of Baltimore county should be of the
|

opinion that such repairs and improvements would

be for the convenience of the public, they may ap-
|
 
|
propriate such sum or sums as they may deem proper
and right, to be expended for the same, not to exceed
three hundred dollars per mile.

SEC. 26. And be it enacted, That this act shall
