General Assembly, passed at the January session,

eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, chapter four hun-

dred and three, entitled "An act to provide for in-
|

dexing the records in the office of the Register of

re-enacted

Wills for Allegany county," be and the same is
|
 
|
hereby repealed and re-enacted to read as follows,
|
 
|
viz:
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That upon the comple-
|
 
|
tion of said indexing, the commissioners of said
|
 
|
county shall levy for the use of said Register of
|
 
|
Wills, as other county charges are levied, such sum
|

an amount sufficient to pay for said books.

CHAPTER 315.

AN ACT for the benefit of St. John's College.
|
 
|
Whereas it appears that the appropriation made
|
 
|
by section one of the act of eighteen hundred and
|
 
|
seventy-two, chapter three hundred and ninety-three,
|
 
|
for the support of St. John's College, will expire on
|
 
|
and after the first day of June, eighteen hundred
|

and seventy-eight, while the remaining sections of
|
 
|
said act remain in full force ; and it is believed that
|
 
|
said College should continue to receive the aid and
|
 
|
support of the State ; therefore —
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
 
|
of Maryland, That the Treasurer, upon the warrant
|
 
|
of the Comptroller, be and he is hereby authorized
|
 
|
and directed, in addition to the permanent annuity
|
 
|
of three thousand dollars, payable on the first day
|
 
|
of January in each year by the State to the Visitors
and Governors of St. John's College, to pay them
|

annuity.

the sum of twelve thousand dollars, in three equal
|
 
|
instalments, on the first day of October, the first day
|
 
|
of April, and the first day of July in each year, for
|
 
|
and during the term of two years, the first of said
