CHAPTER 262.

|
 
|
AN ACT to appropriate the sum of five hundred
|
 
|
dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary,
|
 
|
for the purchase of a lot in Havre-de-Grace, and
|
 
|
the erection thereon of scales suitable for the
|
 
|
weighing of hay, straw, cattle, and other commod-
|
 
|
ities.
|
 
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
 
|
of Maryland, That the sum of five hundred dollars
|

($500) be and the same is hereby appropriated, or so
much thereof as may be necessary, lor the purchase
of a lot in the town of Havre-de-Grace, suitable and
|
 
|
convenient for the erection of scales thereon for the
|
 
|
weighing of hay, straw, cattle, and other commodi-
|
 
|
ties.

|
 
|
 
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That Robert R. Van-
|
 
|
diver, Edward Hall and Washington W. Hopkins,
|

sioners.

be and are hereby appointed commissioners with
authority to select and purchase a lot in the town of
|
 
|
Havre-de-Grace, and thereon to have erected scales
|
 
|
and fixtures necessary for the weighing of hay, straw,
|
 
|
cattle and other commodities, and for so doing are
|
 
|
to expend the said sum hereinbefore named, the title
|
 
|
to said lot to be vested in the State of Maryland,
|
 
|
and for which sum the Comptroller shall issue his
|
 
|
warrant to the Treasurer, the amount of which is
|
 
|
to be paid to said Commissioners on their certificate
|
 
|
of such purchase, but the whole amount of money
|
 
|
herein appropriated shall suffice for the payment for
|
 
|
said lot and the erection and equipment of the scales
|
.
|
aforesaid.
|
 
|
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That upon the
|

missioners, or a majority of them, shall certify said

fact to the Governor, who shall thereupon appoint an
|
 
|
inspector of hay, straw and cattle, for said scales, to
