CHAPTER 174.

AN ACT to consolidate and unite into one corpo-
|
|
|
ration the " Washington University of Baltimore"
|
|
|
and the " College of Physicians and Surgeons of
|
|
|
Baltimore city."
|
|
|
Whereas it has been represented to the General
|
|
|
Assembly of Maryland by the Washington Univer-
|
|
|
sity of Baltimore, a corporation created by virtue of
|
|
|
the provisions of the Act of Assembly of Maryland
|
|
|
of eighteen hundred and thirty-two, chapter one
|
|
|
hundred and eighty-nine, and the Act of Assembly
|
|
|
of Maryland of eighteen hundred and thirty-eight,
|
|
|
chapter one hundred and thirty-eight, and by the
|
|
Preamble
|
"College of Physicians and Surgeons of Baltimore
city," a corporation created under the provisions of
|
|
|
the General Incorporation Laws of the State of Mary-
land, and whose powers were .enlarged by the Act of
Assembly of said State, eighteen hundred and seventy-
|
|
|
four, chapter one hundred and eighty-four, to form a
|
|
|
union with each other, so that the said two cor-
|
|
|
porations may be merged and constitute one body
|
|
|
corporate, under the name and style of " College of
|
|
|
Physicians and Surgeons of Baltimore city ;" there-
|
|
|
fore,
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
|
|
|
of Maryland, That the Washington University of
|
|
|
Baltimore, the corporation created under and by
|
|
|
virtue of the provisions of the Acts of Assembly of
|
|
|
Maryland of eighteen hundred and thirty-two, chap-
|
|
|
ter one hundred and eighty-nine, and of eighteen
|
|
|
hundred and thirty-eight, chapter one hundred and
|
|

united and

thirty-eight, and the corporation created under the
General incorporation Laws of the State of Mary-
|
|
merged.

land by the name of " College of Physicians and

|
Surgeons of Baltimore city," whose powers were

|
|
enlarged by the Act of Assembly of said State,

eighteen hundred and seventy -four, chapter one hun-
|
|
|
dred and eighty-three, be and the same are hereby
|
|
|
united and merged, and shall henceforth constitute
|
|
|
and form one body corporate, under the name and
|
|
