CHAPTER 137.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Governor

to appoint an additional justice of the peace in

the second election district of Queen Anne's

county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

ernor is hereby authorized and empowered to ap-
point an additional justice of the peace in and for

the second election district of Queen Anne's county,

who shall be required to reside in the town of

Crumpton, in said district.

CHAPTER 138.

AN ACT supplementary to an act of November

session, eighteen hundred and twelve, chapter one

hundred and fifty-nine, entitled " An Act for found-

ing an University in the city or precincts of Balti-

more, by the name of the University of Mary-

land," and to authorize the regents of the Uni-

versity of Maryland to apply a portion of the

property held by said University to the general

uses of said University, and to sell said property

and apply the proceeds to the general uses of said

University.
