AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Amend section 233, in the second line thereof, by
inserting after the word "or" and before the words
"any woman," the additional words "knowingly, car-
nally know and abuse."
Which was adopted.
Said bill, as amended, was then read a third
time, and passed by yeas and nays, as follows :
AFFIRMATIVE.—Messrs. Speaker, S rong, Wilson,
Brashears, Donaldson, Hutchins, Sappington, of
Anne Arundel, Ireland, Carrico, Orrick, Cole, Elliott,
Hamilton, Jr., Monmonier, Schlaffer, Collins, Leon-
ard, Green, Anderson, Sterling, Meredith. Smith, of
Dorchester, Miles, Kirk, Bowie, of Prince George's,
Hill, Perrie, Bryan, Wallen, Franklin, Wilkinson,
Hayman, McSherry, Gaver, Grove, of Frederick,
Sappington, of Frederick, Hayward, Deen, Johnson.,
Thompson, Fuld, Brennan, Carter, Gallagher, Carr,
Cornthwaite, Griffith, Hosken, Sr., Berret, Laws—50.
NEGATIVE.—None.
Also, returned,
House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 61 and
64, of Article 16, of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title "Montgomery County," sub title "County Com-
missioners," and sections 124, 125 and 126 of said
Article 16, sub-t'tle "Jurors, State's Witnesses, Crier
and Bailiffs," and sections 218 and 219 of said Article
16, sub-title "Taxes," and to re enact the same with
amendments, and to add a new section to said Article
16 to be numbered 220.
Endorsed: "Read a third time, and passed by yeas
and nays, with proposed amendment."
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
"Section 1, at the end of line 61, add the following:
If of the tive persons having the highest number of
votes two or more shall be residents of the same col-
lection district, the person in said district having the
highest number of votes shall be declared elected and
the persons in the respective districts having the
highest number of votes shall constitute the Board of
County Commissioners,"
