money to pay for land that may be acquired for the
extension of the lands of the Maryland House of Cor-
rection.

House bill entitled an Act to empower the Directors
of the Maryland House of Correction to purchase or con-
demn land and improvements for the extension and
enlarging of the lands of said Maryland House of
Correction.

House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact,
with amendments section 12, of Article 56, of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "Licenses," sub-title
"Brokers," relating to stock brokers.
Which was read a second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

Senate bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of
money to aid in the purchase of free books for the
scholars of the public schools of the State of Maryland

House bill entitled an Act to provide for the pay-
ment by the State for certain debts contracted by the
Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company during 1887,
1888, 1889 and 1890, for labor and raw material and
for the assignment of the same to the State.
