Mr. Strong presented a petition of P. A. Wilson,
Robert Boyle and 30 other citizens, protesting against
the repeal of the statute now in force allowing the use
of patent tongs for taking oysters in the waters of
Kent county.
Which was read, and referred to the Kent County
Delegation and Mr. Michaels.
Mr. Bevard presented a petition of Garrett Asborn
and 68 other citizens of Harford county, asking the
passage of a law directing that all suits before a mag-
istrate be tried in the district in which the defendant
resides.
Which was read, and referred to the Harford County
Delegation.
Also, presented a petition from W. C. Savington
and 20 others, authorizing the Commissioners of Har-
ford county to increase the pension of Chas. C. Smith,
of said county, to one hundred dollars.
Which was read, and referred to the Harford County
Delegation.

ORDERS.
Mr. Thompson submitted the following order, viz :
Ordered, That the State Printer print and bind in
paper 1,000 copies of the report of the Labor Statisti-
cian of the State, to be distributed by the Chief of
the Industrial Bureau, cost not to exceed $650.

LEAVES TO INTRODUCE BILLS.
On motion of Mr. Fox,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled an Act to amend
Article 56, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Licenses," sub-title "Traders," by adding an addi-
tional section, to follow immediately after section 54
B, and to be called "Section 54 C."
On motion of Mr. Sanders,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Chesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries to introduce a bill entitled an
