facture of binder twine, cord, rope, &c., in the Mary-
land Penitentiary.
Which was read a second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
Mr. Joyce, from the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of
the Columbia and Maryland Railway, a corporation
formed under Article 28, of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of this State, title "Corporations, ' sub-
title "Railroad Companies."
Which was read a second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
Mr. Brashears, from the Committee on Temperance,
reported favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to prohibit the granting
of licenses for the sale of spirituous or fermented
liquors or lager beer in or within three miles of For-
rest Grove Methodist Episcopal Church South, in
Frederick county, Maryland.
Which was read a second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
REPORTS OF SELECT COMMITTEES.
Mr. Schlaffer, from a Select Committee, reported
favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to authorize and require
the County Commissioners of Baltimore county to
make a special annual tax levy of ten cents on each
hundred dollars of the assessable property in the 13th
Election District of Baltimore county, for the purpose
of macadamizing the county roads of said district, if
fifty or more taxable residents of said district shall
petition therefor,
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Hill, from a Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,
House bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
section 28, of Article 56, of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws, title "Licenses," sub-title "Hawkers and
Peddlars," so as the same applies to Prince George's
county
