from to-day's session on account of pressing business.
On motion of Mr. Leeds, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Berret be excused from non-
attendance to-day on account of important business.
On motion of Mr. Deen, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Johnson be excused from to-
day's session on account of important business.
On motion of Mr. Carter, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Field be excused from attending
to-day's session on account of important business.
On motion of Mr. Young, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Buckey be excused from at-
tendance on to day's session on account sickness.
Also,
Ordered, That Mr. Barber be excused from at-
tendance on to-day's session on account of business.
Also,
Ordered, That Mr. Stottlemyer be excused from
attendance on to-day's session on account of business.
Also
Ordered, That Mr. Anderson be excused from
to-day's session on account of important business.
On motion of Mr. Hamilton, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Schlaffer be excused from to-
day's session.
On motion of Mr. Miles, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Smith, of Dorchester, be ex-
cused from attendance to-day on account of im-
portant business.
On motion of Mr. Wilkinson, it was
Ordered, That Messrs. Franklin and Hayman be ex
cused from attendance upon to-day's session.
Mr. Ellegood submitted the following order, viz:
Ordered, That the Postmaster of the House of
Delegates be furnished a pair of scales for the purpose
of weighing mail matter, cost not to exceed $2.00.
Which was read, and passed by yeas and nays, as
