ing the passage of an Act to authorize the County
Commissioners of said county to levy a sum of money
to build a school house in the 1st Election District of
said county.
Which was read and referred to St. Mary's Delega-
tion.
Mr. Haines presented a petition from 349 citizens of
the 4th Election District of Carroll county, asking for
a special election to prevent the sale of intoxicating
drinks, bitters, &c
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Temperance.
Mr. Bowie presented a petition from citizens of
Prince George's county, to pay W. A Lyon for losses
sustained by having his barn burned by an escaped
convict from the Maryland House of Correction.
Which was read and referred to Prince George's
Delegation.

On motion of Mr. Grove, is was
Ordered, That Mr. Beeks be excused to-day on
account of sickness.
On motion of Mr. Bittinger, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Micheals be excused from at-
tendance on to-day's session, on account of sickness.
On motion of Mr. Laird, it was
Ordered, That Messrs. Griffith and Canby be ex-
cused from to-day's sitting of the House.
On motion of Mr. Smith, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Garrett be excused from to-
day's session on account of sickness.
On motion of Mr. Gaver, it was
Ordered, That Messrs. Biggs and McSherry be ex-
cused from to-day's session on account of sickness.
On motion of Mr, Fox, it was
Ordered, That Messrs. Walz, Fuld, Joyce, Gallagher
and O'Conor, be excused from attending this session
to-day, on account of important business.
