four years, and at the second such, general election,
thereafter, there shall be elected two Commissioners
to serve for the term of four years, and the terms of
all Commissioners after the first election provided for
in this Act shall be for four years.
Which were severally read and adopted.
Said bill, as amended, was, then read a second type.
BILLS—SECOND READING.
"House bill entitled an Act to add a new Article to
the Code of Public General Laws, to be know as
"Stationary Engineers," and to be numbered Article
101.
Mr. Sams submitted the following proposed amend-
ments :
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
After the word "Board," in line 7, of section 3, of
printed bill, strike out all down to and inclusive of
the words "thirty tons," in line 14.
Also, after the words "three dollars," in line 14 of
printed bill, add the words "for each certificate so
issued."
Also,
"Section 7. And be it enacted that the provisions
of this Act shall not apply to Worcester, Dorchester,
Baltimore, Harford, Talbot, Queen Anne's, Wicomico,
Calvert, Garrett, Carroll, Cecil, Frederick and Kent
counties."
"Section 8. And be it enacted, that this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage."
Also,
After the words "fifty cents," in line 15 of section
3, insert as follows :
"Said certificates shall be of three grades; a certifi-
cate of the first grade will permit the holder thereof
to take charge of any plant of machinery; the second
grade to take charge of any plant of machinery from
one to five hundred horse-power, and the third grade
to take charge of any plant of machinery from one to
thirty horse-power.
