reported favorably,
House bill entitled an Act authorizing the transcrib-
ing certain indexes of records and will books in the
office of the Register of Wills f or Washington county,
Maryland.
Which was read a first time.
Mr, Lane, from a Select Committee, reported favor-
ably,
House bill entitled an Act to add two new sections
to Article 5, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Calvert County," under the sub-title "County Com-
missioners," regulating the term of office of the
County Commissioners of said county, to be desig-
nated as "Section 46 A and 46 B."
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Bittinger, from a Select Committee, reported
favorably with proposed amendments,
Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact
with amendments section 31, of Article 12, of the Code
of Public Local Laws, title "Garrett County," sub-
title "County Commissioners," and to add two ad-
ditional sections to said Article, to be designated 31
A and 31 B, relating to the election and term of ser-
vice of said County Commissioners, and the filling of
any vacancy which may occur in the same.
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Strike out all after the words "that is to say," in
linee 14, of section 31 A, down to and inclusive of the
words ''six years," in line 15, and insert the follow-
ing in lieu thereof: "two for the term of four years
and one for the term of six years."
Also, strike out all after the words "Garrett
County," in line 16, of section 31 A, down to and in-
clusive of the words "six years," in line 17, and in
lien thereof insert the following : "And at every gen-
eral election in every second year thereafter, there
shall be elected respectively, on the first such general
election one Commissioner to serve for the term of
