Mr. Carter moved to strike out the enacting clause
of the bill.
Mr. Brashears demanded the yeas and nays.
The demand was sustained.
The yeas and nays were called, and appeared as
follows:

city, O'Conor, Gallagher, Sams, Sanders, Frincke,

NEGATIVE.—Messrs. Brashears, Orrick, Cole, Col-
lins, Anderson, Bryan, McSherry, Gaver, Grove, of
Frederick, Sappington, of Frederick, Thompson,
Laird—12.
So the motion to strike out the enacting clause
prevailed.
Mr. Thompson, from the Committee on Chesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries, reported favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to regulate the taking of
oysters in certain waters of the State.
Which was considered.
Mr. Smith submitted the following proposed amend-
ment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In line 5, section 1, strike out "Billy's Island
Point," and insert "Pone Point on lower end of
Bloodsworth Island."
Which was adopted.
Which was read a second time, and ordered en-
grossed for a third readme;.
