Mr. Meredith submitted the following proposed
amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 6, line 4, after the words "Baltimore city"
insert the following: "And two suitable and capable
persons from each of the aforesaid assessment districts
of Dorchester county, and one suitable and capable
person from each election district of said county who
shall serve as assessor in the district from which he is
appointed."
Also, section 6, line 5, after the word "several," in-
sert the word "other."
Mr. Wilkinson submitted the following proposed
amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
After the word "Dorchester," add "Worcester,
Caroline, Wicomico and Kent," and change the word
"county" to "counties."
The question then recurred on the original proposed
amendment as submitted by Mr. Meredith as amended.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Michaels submitted the following proposed
amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
At the end of section 26, insert the following:
"Provided, the provisions of this section shall not
apply to Garrett county, in so far as the time of the
sitting of the Board of Control and Review, but
said sitting in said county shall be limited to forty
days, provided that said sitting be extended for
twenty days more, or so much thereof as the Gover-
nor may think proper and necessary upon applica tion
of said Board of Control and Review."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Combs submitted the following proposed amend-
ment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In line 5, section 25, after the word "ninety two," in-
sert the following: "Except in the counties of Somer-
set, Caroline, Charles, St. Mary's Calvert and Wi-
comico, in which said counties the said returns shall
be made on or before the 1st Tuesday in August, 1892;
provided, however, the number of days of actual
service of said assessors in Charles county shall not
exceed fifty."
