tion to Article 27, of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Crimes and Punishments," sub-title
"False Pretenses," to protect the drivers of cabs,
hacks, coaches or other vehicles, licensed to carry
passengers for hire, from swindlers, frauds and beats.
