the consent of the State of Maryland to the acquisition
of certain lands within the said State by the United
States, or by States or historical societies, for the pur-
pose of erecting monuments, and of properly marking
the position of the different commands engaged in the
battles of Antietem and of the Monocacy, and for pre-
serving said battle-fields for historical purposes.
On motion of Mr. Sappington, of Frederics,
Leave was granted to the Frederick County Dele-
gation to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal
section 81, of Article 11, of the Code of Public Local
Laws, title "Frederick County,"' sub title "County
Commissioners," and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.
On motion of Mr. Walz,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore City Dele-
gation to introduce a bill entitled an Act to lepeal
and re-enact with amendments sections 185 and 136
of Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"City of Baltimore," sub-title "Carriages, Horses,
Boats and Scows."
On motion of Mr. Grove, of Cecil,
Leave was granted to the Committee of Corpor-
ations to introduce a bill entitled an Act to incor-
porate the Elkton Electiic Light and Power Company.
On motion of Mr. Haslup,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corpor-
ations to introduce a bill entitled an Act to award the
charter of the Columbia and Maryland Railway, a
corporation formed under Article 23, of the Code of
Public General Laws of. this State, title "Corpor-
ations," sub-title "Railroad Companies."
On motion of Mr. Combs,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judi-
ciary to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal and
re enact with amendments section 160. of Article 27,
of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Crimes and
Punishments," sub-title "Larceny."
On motion of Mr. Franklin,
Leave was granted to the Worcester County Dele-
gation to introduce a bill entitled an Act to provide
for the appointment of new commissioners to succeed
those appointed by the Act of 1878, chapter 436, for
the purpose of cleaning out the Pocomoke liver, and
to define theif duties.
