On motion of Mr. Beeks,
Leave was granted to the Cecil County Delegation
to introduce a bill entitled an Act to authorize the
Governor to appoint an additional Justice of the
Peace Lor the First Election District of Cecil county.
On motion of Mr. Wallen,
Leave wo s granted to the Queen Anne's County
Delegation to introduce a bill entitled an Act repeal-
ing and re enacting with amendments section 116, of
Article 18, of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Queen Anne's County," sub-title "Church.
Hill."
On motion of Mr. Grove, of Frederick,
Leave was granted to the Frederick County Delega-
tion to introduce a bill entitled an Act requiring the
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company to place safety
gates and watchmen at the crossing of its railroad and
the Frederick Town Turnpike Road.
On motion of Mr. Smith, of Washington,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled an Act f or the relief
of the Hagerstown Seminary, and to appropriate
money for the same and provide for the education
and board of three scholars from each of the follow-
ing counties: Garrett, Alleghaney, Washington,
Frederick and Montgomery.
On motion of Mr. Deen,
Leave was granted to the Caroline County Delega-
tion and Mr. Smith, of Dorchester, to introduce a bill
entitled an Act to incorporate the town of Preston, in
Caroline county.
On motion of Mr. Smith, of Washington,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Elections to in-
troduce a bill entitled an Act to make valid the appoint-
ment of Registers of Voters and the Board of Supervi-
sors of Elections in the city of Hagerstown and the en-
tries made, acts done, and proceedings taken by said
Registers of Voters in attempted pursuance of the duties
required of them respectively, by the provisions of
chapter 36, of the Acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland, passed at its present January Session, en-
titled an Act to repeal sections 156 and 159, of Article
22, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Wash-
