Gentlemen of the Senate:
We have received your message requesting the
return to your Honorable Body of House bill (printed)
No. 47, entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money
to pay Wm. H. Taylor for services rendered the House
of Delegates as flag hoister, Robert Bellis as assistant
postmaster, and Benjamin Sevier as keeper of cloak
room, for further consideration, and herewith return
said bill.

The House, in accordance with a motion adopted
March 9th, considered,
House bill entitled an Act to provide for the general
valuation and assessment of property in this State.
Mr. Collins submitted the following proposed amend-
ment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Section 1, line 27, after the word "taxes," insert
the words "or any local law of any county."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Joyce submitted the following proposed amend-
ment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Amend section 1 by striking out the words ''regis-
tered in a port of Maryland," in line 3.
Which was adopted.
