Also, favorably,
Senate bill entitled an Act to add a new section to
Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"City of Baltimore," under the new sub section, title
"Sheriff's Fees," to follow immediately after section
799, and to be designated as "Section 799 A."
Also, favorably,
Senate bill entitled an Act for the identification of
habitual criminals.
Which were severally read a second time.
The Committee on Engrossed Bills reported favor-
ably the following order, heretofore referred to said
Committee, viz:
On account of the increased labor imposed upon the
engrossing clerks of this House, caused by amend-
ment of Rule 5 requiring all general bills to be pre-
sented on bill paper with the leave.
Therefore, be it ordered, That the Speaker be and
he is hereby directed to appoint additional engrossing
clerks to facilitate the work of this House.
Which was considered.
Pending cousideration, the Order of the Day took
precedence.
Mr. Stearns, from the Committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to refund to Wm. Green
Doris, administrators of Peter L. Doris, late of Wor-
cester county, deceased, the sum of $53.28 taxes paid
in error into the State Treasury.
Which was read a second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
Mr. Brashears, from the Committee on Temperance,
reported favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to enable the qualified
voters of Election District No. 13, in Frederick county,
to determine by ballot whether spirituous and fer-
mented liquors shall be sold in said district.
Which was read a first time.
