for the appointment of two Notaries Public to reside
in Cockeysville, ,in the 8th Election District of Balti-
more county.
On motion of Mr. Laird,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary
to introduce a bill entitled an Act to prohibit the use
of free passes, tickets or cards of travel by the public
officers of the State of Maryland.
On motion of Mr. Brennan,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore City Delega-
tion to introduce a bill entitled an Act to regulate the
hours of labor of mechanics and laborers employed
under the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore cityr
its officers, agents or contractors.
On motion of Mr. Collins,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Agriculture
to introduce a bill entitled an Act to establish the
manufacture of binder cord, rope, twine, etc., in the
Maryland Penitentiary.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Agriculture
to introduce a bill entitled an Act to provide for the
destruction of fruit trees infected with the disease
known as the "Yellows."
On motion of Mr. Schlaffer,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore County Delega-
tion to introduce a bill entitled an Act to authorize
and empower the County Commissioners of Baltimore
county, to appropriate a sum of money for the pur-
chase of a steam fire engine for use at and in the
vicinity of the villages of Highlandtown and Canton,
in the Twelfth District of Baltimore county.
On motion of Mr. McSherry,
Leave was granted to the Frederick County Dele-
gation to introduce a bill entitled an Act to provide-
for the trial by the Police Justice of the Peace in Ele-
tion District number 2, in Frederick county, of per-
sons charged with violating any of the ordinances of
the Mayor and Aldermen of Frederick, and to repeal
section 183, and to repeal and re enact with amend-
ments sections 238, 253 and 255, of Article 11, of the
