On motion of Mr. Leeds, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Haines be excused for non-
attendance last night on account of sickness.
On motion of Mr. Monmonier, it was
Ordered, That a committee of three members of the
House be appointed by the Speaker to take into con-
sideration and report some plan for the better venti-
lation of the Chamber of 'the House of Delegates.
Mr. Grove submitted the following order, viz :
Ordered, That 7( O copies of the list of names of
Senators and Members of the House, with their occu-
pation and address, the chief officers of the two
Houses, and the committees of both, be printed at
once, in the style and size of page and lines of the
journal, (two hundred of said copies to be bound in
pamphlet form), the number of pages to be about
twenty, and the cost thirty-two dollars.
Which was considered.
On motion of Mr. Carter,
Further consideration postponed, and order laid
over for one day.
LEAVES TO INTRODUCE BILLS.
On motion of Mr. Berret,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled an Act to pay the
editors of the various newspapers of the State for pub-
lishing according to contract the constitutional amend-
ments.
On motion of Mr. Fitzgerald,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled an Act to appro-
priate a sum of money to pay the claim of the Schultz
Gas Fixture and Art Metal Company of Baltimore
city, for furnishing new gas and electric lighting fix-
tures and altering and repairing fixtures in the State
House, Comptroller's building and Treasurer's office
for the introduction of electric lighting.
On motion of Mr. Elliott,
Leave was granted to the Baltimore County Dele-
gation to introduce a bill entitled an Act to provide
