Mr. Kirk presented a petition from E. Haines Cas-
ter, and other citizens of Rising Sun, Cecil county,
asking the re-submission of the local option law, so
far as the same applies to Rising Sun, in said
county.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Temperance.
Mr. Collins presented a petition from Robt. J.
Dawson, Alfred Kemp, and 200 other citizens, tax-
payers of Trappe District, protesting against any
change being made in the dividing line between Easton
and Trappe District, in said county.
Which was read, and referred to the Talbot County
Delegation.
Mr. Leonard presented a petition of J. W. Mitchell,
G. W. Kelly, T. J. Lee, and numerous other citizens
of Talbot county, in favor of a local option law and
against license.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Temperance.
Mr. Gallagher presented a petition from Saml. H.
Tagart. John B. Williams, and other citizens of Balti-
more county, being near to Rowland avenue, in favor
of certain bills now pending before the House, re-
lating to the North Avenue Railway Company of
Baltimore city, and the Baltimore, Hampden and Lake
Roland Railroad Company.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on
Corporations.

On motion of Mr. Gaver, it was
Ordered, That Messrs. Grove and Sappington, of
Frederick, be excused from to-day's session, on ac-
count of sickness.
On motion of Mr. Cornthwaite, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Frincke and Mr. Walz be ex-
cused from attending to-day's session, on account of
important business,
