INTRODUCTION OF BILLS.
Mr, Griffith introduced,
House bill entitled an Act to repeal section .45, of
Article 48, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Inspections," sub-title "Tobacco," and to re-enact
the same with amendments.
Which was read a first time, and referred to the
Committee on Inspections.
Mr. Garrett introduced,
House bill entitled an Act to provide for the pay-
ment by the State for certain debts contracted by
the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Company, 1887, 1888,
1889 and 1890, for labor and raw material, and for the
assignment of the same to the State.
Mr. Fitzgerald introduced,
House bill entitled an Act to provide for the pay-
ment of expenses incurred for the removal and sup-
port of insane or lunatic convicts sent by the State
Lunacy Commission from the Maryland Penitentiary
to Insane Asylums in this State.
Mr. Leonard introduced,
House bill entitled an Act to create free scholar-
ships in tke Easton Manual Training School.
Mr. Orrick introduced,
House bill entitled an Act for the assessments and
collection of tax upon distilled spirits.
Mr. Anderson introduced,
House bill entitled an Act to, refund to John H.
Miles, late Collector of State taxes for the Third Col-
lection District of Somerset county, certain moneys
paid by him into the State Treasury.
Which were severally read a first time, and referred
to the Committee on Ways and Means.
Mr. Brashears introduced,
House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 54 and
158, of Article 83, of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Elections." as enacted by the Act of
1890, chapter 538.
Mr. Fitzgerald introduced,
House bill entitled an Act to restrict the appoint-
ment of officials in the public institutions of the State
of Maryland and of the city of Baltimore, to legal
residents of the State of Maryland.
