Mr. Deen presented a petition from P. W. Downes
and 113 others, citizens of Caroline county, asking for
the passage of an Act making the commissioners of
said county the Board of Control and Review.
Which was read, and referred to Caroline County
Delegation and Mr. Wooters.
Mr. Moore presented a petition from citizens of
Wicomico county, Eleventh District, that no free-
holder shall be competent to sign any application for
liquor license in said county, unless he shall have real
estate to the amount of $1,000 above all incumbrance.
Which was read, and referred to Wicomico County
Delegation.
ORDERS.
On motion of Mr. Orrick, it was
Ordered, That Mr. Monmonier be excu ed from
attending to-day's session of the House.
On motion of Mr. Laird, it was
Ordered, That the Printer deliver 6 copies of each
House Bill to Librarian, for use of Library.
On motion of Mr. Cornthwaite, it was
Ordered, That Mr Frincke be excused from attend-
ing to-day's session, on account of important busi-
ness.
On motion of Mr. Orrick, it was
Ordered, That Mr, Schlaffer be excused from attend-
ing to day's session.
Mr, Thompson submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the State Printer print 150 copies of
a bill entitled an Act to repeal certain sections of
Article 72, of the Code of Public General Laws,
entitled "Oysters," and to enact certain sections in
lieu thereof, for the use of the Committee on Chesa-
peake Bay and its Tributaries, cost not to exceed $30.
Which was lead and adopted by yeas and nays, as
lollows:
AFFIRMATIVE.—Messrs. Speaker. Combs, Garner,
Strong, Wilson, Brashears, Donaldson, Hutchins,
Sappington, of Anne Arundel, Ireland, Lane, Cole,
Elliott, Hamilton, Jr., Collins, Wooters, Leonard,
