House bill entitled an Act to provide for the de-
struction of fruit trees in the State of Maryland, in-
fected with the disease known as the ''Yellows."

amendment

In section 1. line 14, aft r the word "trees," strike-
out the word ''bill" and insert the word "act."

Mr. Bevard submitted the following proposed
amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Insert the words "and Harford" after the word
"Washington," in line 14, section 1, and strike out
"county" and insert "counties" in same section and
line.
Which was rejected.
Mr. Godwin submitted the following proposed
amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In section 4, line 15, after the word "written,"
strike out the word "five" and insert the word
"thirty."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Collins submitted the following proposed
amendment:

In section 3, line 1, strike out the words "it shall
be lawful for" and insert in lieu thereof the words
"shall be the duty."

Mr. Bevard offered the following proposed amend-
ment :

After the word "counties," in line 2, section 3, in-
sert "on the application of ten citizens of said
county."
