House bill entitled an Act to add an additional sec-
tion to Article 75, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Pleadings, Practice and Process," to be num-
bered section 7 A.
Which were severally read a first time.
Also, unfavorably,
House bill entitled an Act to prohibit the use of
free passes, tickets or cards of travel by public officers
of the State of Maryland.
Mr. Laird moved to substitute the bill for the un-
favorable report and make the consideration of that
motion the order of the day for Wednesday, February
3rd, at 2 P. M.
Which motion prevailed.
Mr. Joyce, from the Committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Home
for the Aged of Frederick city.
Also, favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to amend and perpetuate
the charter of the Young Men's Christian Association
of Baltimore city.
Which were severally read a first time.
Also, favorably,
Senate bill entitled an Act to amend the certificate
of incorporation or charter of the American Casualty
Insurance and Security Company of Baltimore city,
as to the number and qualification of the directors
Which was a read a second time.
REPORT OF SELECT COMMITTEES.
Mr. Schlaffer, from a Select Committee, reported
favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower
the County Commissioners of Baltimore county to
appropriate a sum of money for the purchase of a steam
fire engine for use at and in the vicinity of the villages
of Highlandtown and Canton, in the 12th district of
Baltimore county.
