House bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower
the County Commissioners of Baltimore county to ap-
propriate a sum of money for the purchase of a steam
fire-engine for use at and in the vicinity of the
villages of Highlandtown and Canton, in the Twelfth
District of Baltimore county.
Endorsed: "Reported unfavorably from Select Com-
mittee, and report adopted."
Also,
House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the town
of Preston, in Caroline county.
Endorsed: "Considered, further amended, read the
third time, and passed by yeas and nays, with pro
posed amendments."
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Strike out in section 21, third line thereof, the words
"criminal cases," and insert the words "in all cases
relating to the enforcement of town ordinances, rules
and regulations."
Also, amend section 23 by adding thereto the words
"and all fines, penalties and forfeitures arising under
this charter, or any ordinance, rule or regulation
passed by said Town Commissioners, shall be turned
over to the Town Treasurer for town purposes."
Also, amend section 5, in the 5th line thereof, by in-
serting after the word "State," and before the word
''except," the words following, to-wit: "As they ex-
isted prior to the adoption of the Australian Ballot."
