who are or may be incarcerated in the jail of said
county for any offence, shall be required to work or
perform any service as may be directed by the Sheriff,
under order of the County Commissioners of said
county, on the public roads or streets of Easton.
On motion of Mr. Smith,
Leave was granted to the Washington County Dele-
gation to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal sec-
tions 156 and 159, of Arricle 22, of the Code of Public
Local I aws, entitled "Washington County," sub-title
"Hagerstown," and to re-enact the following in lieu
thereof, in amending and revising the charter of
Hagerstown, and in providing for the government
thereof, and to add new and additional sections to
Article 22, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Washington County," sub-title "Hagerstown."
On motion of Mr. Hosken,
Leave was granted to the .Allegany County Dele-
gation to introduce a bill entitled an Act supple-
mental to an Act passed at the January Session, 1890,
of the General Assembly of Maryland, chapter 130,
entitled "an Act to provide for the purchase or con-
struction of water-works for the town of Frostburg,
in Allegany county, and to authorize the Mayor and
Councilmen of said town to issue bonds to pay the
cost thereof " empowering the Mayor and Councilmen
of said town to issue additional bonds to complete
said water-works, and so amend said Act by abolish-
ing the Frostburg Water Board, provided for therein.
On motion of Mr Laird,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary
to introduce a bill entitled an Act to add a section to
Article 87, of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Sheriff," sub-title "Oath of Office and Bond," to
come in after section 4 of said Article, and to be
called section 4 A, relating to the official oath to be
taken by the Sheriff.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and
Means to introduce a bill entitled an Act to authorize
the Governor to appoint delegates from the several
Congressional districts of this State, to the National
