entitled an Act to apply a portion of the proceeds
of the public lands to the more complete endowment
and support of the colleges for the benefit of agricul-
ture and the mechanic arts, established under the
provisions of an Act of Congress, approved July 2nd,
1862.
Also favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to provide for the des-
truction of' fruit trees in the State of Maryland in-
flicted with the disease known as the "Yellows."
Which were severally read a first time.
REPORTS OF SELECT COMMITTEES.
Mr. Schlaffer, from a Select Committee, reported
favorably,
House bill entitled an Act to add an additional sec-
tion to chapter 874, of the Acts of 1890, entitled an
Act to regulate the sale and the granting of licences
for the sale of spirituous and fermented liquors in
Baltimore county.
Mr. Bryan, from Select Committee, reported fav-
orably,
House bill entitled an Act to authorize the County
Commissioners of Queen Anne's county to grant a
pension to Greenberry T. Baxter, of said county.
Mr. Ireland, from Select Committee, reported fav-
orably,
House bill entitled an Act to authorize and direct
the Sheriff, Justice of the Peace and other officers of
Calvert county to pay over to the Treasurer for said
county all moneys collected for fines, &c.
Which were severally read a first time.
Mr. Fitzgerald, from Select Committee, reported
favorably,
Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Board
of Police Commissioners for the City of Baltimore to
increase the pension of James M. Moore, a retired
patrolman of the police force of Baltimore.
Which was read a second time.
