Senate bill entitled an Act to remove the county
seat of Charles county from Port Tobacco to LaPlata,
in said county, if the qualified voters of said county
shall so determine, and to provide for the erection of a
court house and jail at LaPlata, and the procuring
of a site or sites for the same, and to authorize the
County Commissioners of said county to borrow
money and issue bonds. &c.
Mr. Maddox submitted the following proposed
amendment :

Strike out the word "LaPlata" wherever it occurs
in the bill.
