Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judi-
ciary to introduce a bill entiiled an Act to add an ad-
ditional section to Article 93, of the Code of Public
General Laws, title "Testamentary Law," sub-title
"Orphans' Court," and to be called "Section 227 A,"
authorizing the Governor to designate and commission
one of the three Judges of the Orphans' Court as
Chief Judge, and to ratify and confirm the Acts of
the Governor in making such designation and issuing
such commission, and vesting in each of said persons
so designated and commissioned as Chief Judge, full
power and authority as such, and confirming all writs
and other process tested by them as such.
Also,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judi-
ciary to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal
Article 89, of the Code of Public Genera] Laws of
Maryland, title "Statistics and Information as to
Branches of Industry," and to re-enact the same with
amendments.
On motion of Mr. McSherry,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judi-
ciary to introduce a bill entitled an Act to give the
sanction of the General Assembly to a certain bequest
and devise to the Missionary Society of the Methodist
Episcopal Church, incorporated by the Legislature of
the State of New York, contained in the last will and
testament of Susan Kuhn, of Frederick county.
On motion of Mr. Smith,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judi-
ciary to introduce a bill entitled an Act to cede to the
United States jurisdiction over certain lands, at or
near the Antietam battlefield.
On motion of Mr. Joyce,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corpora-
tions to introduce a bill entitled an Act to add addi-
tional sections to Article 12, of the Code of Public
General Laws, title "Banks," to be known as "Sections
31 and 32," to compel each firm, individual and cor-
poration (not incorporated under the Act of Congress
passed at the thirty-eighth session of Congress, en-
