1020 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 23,
Mr. Bryan, from Select Committee, reported
favorably,
Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 238,
2:34, 285, 236, 237, 238, 289 and 240, of Article 18, of
the Code of "Public Local Laws, title "Queen Anne's
County," sub-title "Stevensonville," relating to the
re-corporation of the town of Stevensville, Queen
Anne's county.
Which was read a second time.
Also, favorably, from Select Committee,
House bill entitled an Act to authorize and-em-
power the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's
county to appoint one additional constable for the
third and sixth election districts jointly.
Which was read a second time.
Mr. Hill, from Select Committee, reported favor-
ably, with proposed amendments,
Senate bill entitled an Act to remove the county
seat of Charles county from Port Tobacco to LaPlata,
in said county, if the qualified voters of said county
shall so determine, and to levy money to pay for the
erection of public building and to issue bonds, &c.
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Strike out all after the word "county," in line 3 of
section 1, down to the end of the said section, and in-
sert as follows: "At a special election to be held on
the 7th clay of May, in the year eighteen hundred
and ninety-two, which election shall be held as fol-
lows: The Sheriff of said county shall give notice of
such election to be held by virtue of this Act by ad-
vertisement inserted in two newspapers published in
said county and by hand-bills posted in each Elec
tion District in said county at least ten days before
said election, in which notice a copy of this Act shall
be inserted, and the expenses of said advertisements
and of the tickets provided for in section 2 of this
Act, and all other expenses incident thereto, shall be
levied for and paid by the County Commissioners."
Also,
In line 2, of section 2, after the words "for re-
moval," insert as follows: "of county seat to La
Plata."
