The Hon. Edward LeCompte, Secretary of State,
appeared and delivered the following message from
his Excellency, the Governor :
STATE OF MARYLAND,
EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,
Annapolis, Jan. 6, 1892.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :
I have the honor to transmit herewith my executive
message to the General Asssembly of Maryland.

Mr. McSherry submitted the following order:
Ordered, That a select committee of five members
be appointed by the Speaker, to whom shall be
referred the message of the Governor, for the purpose
of distributing the various subjects treated therein to
appropriate committees.
Which was adopted.
The Speaker named as such committee, Messrs..
McSherry, Bryan, Combs and Young,
Mr. Carter submitted the following message :
BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
January 6th, 1892.
Gentlemen of the Senate :
We respectfully propose, with the concurrence of
your Honorable Body, that the Senate and House of
Delegates meet in the Hall of the House of Delegates
at 2.10 P. M., January 6th, 1892, when the Speaker
shall preside, and in the presence of both Houses,
open the returns of elections for Governor of the State
State, in conformity with the requirements of Article
2, section 3, of the Constitution of Maryland.
