Joint resolution requesting and urging the Senators and


Representatives of the State of Maryland in the Congress


of the United States to use their best efforts and endeavors


to secure the passage of Senate bill No. 67, entitled a "Bill


to transfer the Revenue Marine Service from the Treasury


Department of the United States to the Naval Department,"


introduced in the Senate of the United States at the begin-


ning of this session by Senator Gray, of Delaware.


WHEREAS, there is now pending in the Congress of the.

of the revenue marine service from the treasury to the


naval establishment of the United States.


WHEREAS, said bill is in the highest sense a meritorious


measure and deserving of immediate consideration ; inas-

than a civil body without the incident rights and privileges


of the former, and inasmuch as the duties are at present


almost entirely of a military and naval character and should
