CHAPTER 687.

AN ACT to refund to Hutclrins Crawford of Calvert County
|
|
|
|
a sum of money paid by him to the clerk of the Circuit
|
|
|
|
Court of Calvert County and by said clerk paid into the
|
|
|
|
treasury of the State, for a commission as sheriff of said
|
|
|
|
county, which commission was annulled by the Circuit
|
|
|
|
Court for Calvert County aforesaid.
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS at the general election held on the Tuesday
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
next succeeding the first Monday of November, in the year
|
|
|
|
eighteen hundred and ninety-one Hutchins Crawford of Cal-
|
|
|
|
vert County was by the returns filed with the Governor
|
|
|
|
shown to have been duly elected sheriff of said county, and
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS a commission as such sheriff-elect was duly
|
|
|

forwarded to said Hutchins Crawford by the Governor
|
|
|
|
through John Sedwick then clerk of the Circuit Court of
|
|
|
|
Calvert County ; which by said clerk was delivered to said
|
|
|
|
Crawford and for which the said Crawford paid the said
|
|
|
|
clerk the sum of twenty dollars ; and
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS the clerk aforesaid duly forwarded the said
|
|
|

sum of twenty dollars to the Comptroller of the State Treas-
|
|
|
|
ury, less five per centum commission to wit : The sum of
|
|
|
|
nineteen dollars, and
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS said Crawford was declared by the Circuit
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
Court for Calvert County not to have been the duly elected
|
|
|
|
sheriff and annulled said commission ; therefore,
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he
|
|
|
Refunding
money.
|
is hereby authorized and directed to issue his warrant upon
|
|
|
|
the treasurer of the State in favor of Hutchins Crawford of
|
|
|
|
Calvert County for the sum of nineteen dollars as hereinbe-
|
|
|
|
fore recited, out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise
|
|
|
|
appropriated.
|
|
|
Effective.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
|
|
|
|
from the date of its passage.
|
|
|
|
