CHAPTER 554.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to provide for the speedy execution and enforce-
|
|
|
|
ment of chapter two hundred and ninety-nine, of the Gen-
|
|
|
|
eral Assembly of Maryland, passed at January session,
|
|
|
|
eighteen hundred and ninety, relating to the establishing
|
|
|
|
and maintaining a High School in Ceutreville, Queen
|
|
|
|
Anne's County, Maryland.
|

|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
Maryland, That the body corporate, " The Trustees of the
|
|
|
Providing
for the
|
Centreville Academy of Queen Anne's County," and the
|
|
|
Enforce-

body corporate " The Board of School Commissioners of
|
|
|

the act of

Queen Anne's County," be and they are hereby authorized

and directed at an early day to carry into effect and opera-

tion the provisions of the act of the General Assembly of

Maryland, passed at January session eighteen hundred and

|

ninety, chapter two hundred and ninety -nine, providing and

|
|
|
intending to secure the purchasing or otherwise obtaining a
|
|
|
|
site for the erection of a High School thereon, in the town
|
|
|
|
of Centreville, Queen Anne's County, and the erection of
|
|
|
|
said High School and all the other provisions of said act of
|
|
|
|
1890, chapter 299, are extended and continued in full force.
|
|
|
|

CHAPTER 555.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to provide for the destruction of the weed or plant
|
|
|
|
known as " The Canada Thistle," on the lands in Queen
|
|
|
|
Anne's County, Maryland, and to prevent the increase
|
|
|
|
thereof.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
Maryland, That hereafter it shall be unlawful for any person
|
|
|

or persons owning or occupying lands in Queen Anne's

County, Maryland, to suffer or permit the weed or plant
|
|
|
Thistle.

known as "The Canada Thistle," to grow upon said land
|
|
|
|
until it comes to bloom or flowers, but it shall be the duty
|
|
|
|
of every such person or persons to have said weed or plant
|
|
|
|
dug up or cut down before it comes to bloom or flowers and
|
|
|
|
any and all persons violating the provisions of this law
|
|
|
|
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable on
|
|
|
|
conviction by a fine of not less than five nor more than ten
|
|
|
|
dollars for each and every offence, triable before a justice
|
|
|
|
|
|
