jurisdiction, ten dollars for one person so conveyed or


carried, and five dollars for each additional person carried


at one and the same time, unless the county commissioners


shall be satisfied that extraordinary care had to be exercised


accompanied with unusual danger, trouble or expense, when


in their discretion they may allow more, the compensation


so specified to be in full of all costs and expenses of such


carrying, and provided that said sheriff be and he is hereby


held and required to convey at one and the same time to


each institution all persons sentenced to be confined at


each such respective institution at any one term of court,


said compensation to be levied for annually by the county


commissioners and paid to said sheriff. All persons con-


victed before any justice of the peace of the sixth election


district of said county and sentenced to serve a term in any


penal institution, other than the county jail, shall be carried


or conveyed to such institution by the said sheriff, and no


constable of said district shall convey any person under

sentence to any penal institution other than the county jail,

and the county commissioners are hereby prohibited from

paying said constables for the conveyance of any such per-

sons under sentence elsewhere than to the county jail; no

other fees, turnkeys' charges, perquisites or allowances

whatever shall be allowed or levied for said sheriff except

such as are allowed and specified by the Code of Public

General Laws relating to sheriffs whether the same have

heretofore been allowed by usage or not.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect

AN ACT to repeal section one hundred and seventy-two
A, of article eighteen, of the Code of Public Local Laws,
title " Queen Anne's County," sub-title " Fish and Terra-
pins," as repealed and re-enacted by chapter five hundred
and twenty-eight of the acts of the General Assembly of
Maryland, and to re-enact the same with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
