CHAPTER 461.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to amend the charter of the Easton, Trappe and
|
|
|
|
Cambridge Railroad Company, and to extend and enlarge
|
|
|
|
the privileges and powers of said railroad company, incor-
|
|
|
|
porated under and by virtue of the General Laws of this
|
|
|
|
State, relating to the formation of railroad companies as
|
|
|
|
set out in the Marylaud Code of Public General Laws of
|
|
|
|
1888, article 23, and all supplements thereto, the articles
|
|
|
|
of in corporation of which company, have been duly recorded
|
|
|
|
in the office of the Secretary of the State of Maryland,
|
|
|
|
under the provisions of said Code of General Laws.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
Maryland, That the Easton, Trappe and Cambridge Rail-
|

road Company, a corporation duly incorporated, in the year

eighteen hundred and ninety -two, by and under articles of
|

|
incorporation duly recorded in the office of the Secretary of
|
|
|
|
the State of Maryland, under the provisions of the Code of
|
|
|
|
Public General Laws of this State, for the purpose of con-
|
|
|
|
structing and maintaining and operating a railroad in Mary-
|
|
|
|
land, beginning at a point in Talbot County, between
|
|
|
|
Easton and Oxford on the D. & C. R. R. or B. & E. S. R. R.
|
|
|
|
Maryland, and running in a southerly direction to the town
|
|
|
|
of Trappe through said county ; thence to a point in said
|
|
|
|
county opposite Cambridge as one of the termini of said
|
|
|
|
road, and which is hereby ratified, shall have the power to
|
|
|
|
unite, connect and consolidate with any railroad company
|
|
|
|
or companies, in this State, so that the capital stock of said
|
|
|
|
companies so uuited,connected and consolidated, respectively
|
|
|
|
may at the pleasure of the directors, constitute a common
|
|
|
|
stock, and the respective companies may thereafter consti-
|
|
|
|
tute one company and be entitled to all the rights, privi-
|
|
|
|
leges and immunities which each of them possess, have and
|
|
|
|
enjoy under and by virtue of their respective charters.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2 And be it enacted, That the Easton, Trappe and
|
|
|
|
Cambridge Railroad Company shall have the power to con-
|

nect with any railroad, or railroads, in this State, for the
|
said com-

|
purpose of carrying on its business, and shall have power to
|

lease or sell the railroad constructed by it to any other corpora-
|
|
|
|
tion created by the laws of this State, or any other State,
|
|
|
|
or make any agreement or contract tor the use of said rail-
|
|
|
|
road, and of all or any of its property, on such terms and
|
|
|
|
for such time as may be agreed upon between it and any
|
|
|
|
other corporation created by the laws of this or any other
|
|
|
|
State, or between it and any individual or individuals, as it
|
|
|
|
may deem best for the interest of said company.
