CHAPTER 408.


AN ACT to add additional sections to article seventy-two


of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Washington


County," sub-title " Hagerstown," to be named respect-


ively sections 205 A, 205 B, 205 C, 205 D and 205 E,


and to follow section 205 of said article twenty-two of


the Code of Public Locol Laws, title "Washington


County," sub-title "Hagerstown."


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That the following new sections to be named

sections.

respectively sections two hundred and five A, two hundred


and five B, two hundred and five C, two hundred and five


D and two hundred and five E, to follow section two


hundred and five of article twenty-two of the Code of


Public Local Laws entitled " Washington County," sub-


title " Hagerstown," be and the same are hereby enacted and


added to said article twenty-two of the Code of Public


Local Laws, title " Washington County," sub title " Hagers-


town," so as to read as follows :


SEC. 205 A. The mayor and council of Hagerstown are


hereby authorized and empowered to borrow a sum of


money not exceeding sixty thousand dollars, on and upon


the faith and credit of the town as hereinafter provided

which shall be known and designated as "The Town

money for

Improvement Fund," and which shall be applied and used

improve-
ments.

exclusively in the following manner and for the following


purposes, to-wit : First, thirty thousand dollars thereof


shall be applied and used exclusively for the construction


and improvement of the following named drains, viz : one


drain known as the "Town Run Drain" including the


north end drain to Boward's limekilns thirty-six hundred


feet in length ; one drain running from East Antietam


street to connect with the Town Run Drain on Washington


street between Mulberry street and Common avenue five


hundred and seventy feet in length ; one drain connecting


with the Town Run Drain at the Ladle Spring, and running


northward to North street, eighteen hundred and fifty feet


in length ; the drain connecting with the Town Run Drain


on the property of George W. Eyerly on east Washington


street and running westward to the alley in the rear of


William Gassman's property on south Potomac street four


hundred feet in length ; one drain running northward from


its intersection with the Town Run Drain on the property of


John Gassman on east Washington street to an alley between


Franklin and Church streets, six hundred feet in length ; one
