follow section two hundred and thirty one and to be known

|
|
|
as section two hundred and thirty-one A.

|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
|
|
|
Maryland, That an additional section be and the same is
|

hereby added to article twenty -seven of the Code of Public

thirty-one, and to be known as section two hundred and

thirty-one A.

|
|
231 A. Any person who shall cling, climb, jump, step or
|
|
|
|
in any other way get upon any part of any locomotive,
|

engine or car, whether the same be freight, passenger, coal
|
cars un-
lawfully
|
|
|
or otherwise, upon any part of the track of any railroad
|
|
|
|
within this State, unless in so doing they act in compliance
|
|
|
|
with law, or any permission under the rules and regulations
|
|
|
|
of the railroad company or corporation operating and man-
|
|
|
|
aging such railroad, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and
|
|
|
|
upon conviction thereof before any justice of the peace or
|
|
|
|
any court of competent jurisdiction shall be fined not less
|
|
|
|
than one dollar nor more than twenty-five dollars or be
|
|
|
|
subject to imprisonment in jail or in the Maryland House
|
|
|
|
of Correction for not more than six months, or to both fine
|
|
|
|
and imprisonment in the discretion of the justice of the
|
|
|
|
peace trying the case, or court before whom the case may
|
|
|
|
be tried, or if such person be a minor under sixteen years
|
|
|
|
of age, he may in the discretion of the justice of the peace,
|
|
|
