231 A. Any person who shall cling, climb, jump, step or

within this State, unless in so doing they act in compliance


with law, or any permission under the rules and regulations


of the railroad company or corporation operating and man-


aging such railroad, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and


upon conviction thereof before any justice of the peace or


any court of competent jurisdiction shall be fined not less


than one dollar nor more than twenty-five dollars or be


subject to imprisonment in jail or in the Maryland House


of Correction for not more than six months, or to both fine


and imprisonment in the discretion of the justice of the


peace trying the case, or court before whom the case may


be tried, or if such person be a minor under sixteen years


of age, he may in the discretion of the justice of the peace,
