|
171. There shall be for Anne Arundel County thirty-two
|
|
|
|
justices of the peace and twenty constables to be appointed
from and allotted to the several election districts as follows,
|

constables.

districts respectively, five justices of the peace, and three
|
|
|
|
constables ; and from the sixth election district two justices
|
|
|
|
of the peace and one constable.

171 A. The justices of the peace appointed for the sixth
|
|
|
|
district of Anne Arundel County before qualifying, as such,
|

shall give bond to the State of Maryland in a' penalty of
|
|
|
|
two thousand dollars with a surety, or sureties, to be
|
|
|
|
approved by the county commissioners, conditioned that he
|
|
|
|
will well and faithfully execute the duties and obligations
|
|
|
|
of the office of justice of the peace and that he will account
|
|
|
|
for and pay over to the county commissioners of Anne
|
|
|
|
Arundel County all fines, penalties, forfeitures and costs
|
|
|
|
imposed by him and which he shall receive for, or on
|
|
|
|
account of criminal offences tried before him under the
|
|
|
|
provisions of the Code of Public General and Public Local
|
|
|
|
Laws, and that he will account for and pay over to the
|
|
|
|
mayor, counselor and aldermen of the city of Annapolis, all
|
|
|
|
fines, penalties, forfeitures and costs imposed by him and
|
|
|
|
which he shall receive for or on account of criminal offences
|
|
|
|
tried before him for violations of the code of the city of
|
|
|
|
Annapolis, and that he will well and faithfully account for
|
|
|
|
and pay over to the persons and corporations entitled to the
|
|
|
|
same, all moneys coming into his hands on account of col-
|
|
|
|
lections of small debts placed in his hands for collection or
|
|
|
|
on judgments recovered in civil actions. And the bond of
|
|
|
|
the said justices shall be liable at the suit of the State of
|
|
|
|
Maryland for the use of the county commissioners of Anne
|
|
|
|
Arundel County and of the mayor, counselor and aldermen
|
|
|
|
of the city of Annapolis of any person or corporation enti-
|
|
|
|
tled in any default of said condition.
|
|
|
|
171 B. The justices of the peace of the sixth district
|
|
|
|
shall attend at their respective offices in the city of
|
Office
|
|
|
Annapolis every day (Sundays excepted) at least from the
|
hours.

|
|
