CHAPTER 321.


AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section


thirty-one of article twelve of the Code of Public Local


Laws, title ''Garrett County," sub-title " County Commis-


sioners, "and to add two additional sections to said article


to be designated thirty-one A, and thirty-one B, relating


to the election and term of service of said county commis-


sioners, and the filling of any vacancy which may occur


in the same.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That section thirty -one of article twelve of the

Amend-
ment and

Code of Public. Local Laws, title "Garrett County," sub-

sections.

title " County Commissioners," be and the same is hereby


repealed and re-enacted with amendments, to read as follows:


and that the following new sections be added to said article


to follow section thirty-one, and to be numbered section


thirty-one A, and section thirty one B, and to read as


follows :

Terms of

31. The three County Commissioners of Garrett County,

elected at the general election on the Tuesday next after the

sioners

first Monday in the month of November, in the year eighteen
hundred and ninety-one, shall hold their office for two years


from the time of their election, and shall receive the same


compensation as now provided by law.


31 A. At the general election to be held on the first

commissioner to serve for the term of four years, and at the


second such general election thereafter, there shall be elected


two commissioners to serve for the term of four years, and


the terms of all commissioners after the first election pro-


vided for in this act shall be for four years, and said com-


missioners so elected shall receive the same compensation


as now provided by law.


31 B. If at any time the number of county commissioners
