CHAPTER 322.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments chapter
|
|
|
|
four hundred of the laws of eighteen hundred and eighty-
|
|
|
|
six, entitled an act to authorize and empower the Board
|
|
|
|
of Managers of the Maryland Hospital for the Insane to
|
|
|
|
sell and convey certain land lying between the bed of the
|
|
|
|
Catonsville Short Line Railroad Company and the Fred-
|
|
|
|
erick turnpike.
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, the land belonging to the board of managers
|
|
|
|
of the Maryland Hospital for the Insane lying between the
|
Preamble.
|
|
|
road bed of the Catonsville Short Line Railroad Company
|
|
|
|
and the Frederick turnpike is by said road bed divided from
|
|
|
|
the other property, and is no longer available for the pur-
|
|
|
|
pose of the hospital, and
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS, the said board of managers are desirous of
|

selling said land and investing the proceeds, as may be
|
|
|
|
most advantageous for the purpose of the said hospital.
|
|
|
|
SECTON 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
Amend-
|
|
|
Maryland, That chapter No. four hundred of the laws of
|
ment.
|
|
|
eighteen hundred and eighty-six is hereby repealed and
|
|
|
|
re-enacted to read as follows :
|
|
|
|
That the board of managers of the Maryland hospital for
|
|
|
|
the insane be and they are hereby authorized and empow-
|
|
|
|
ered to sell and convey by deed to be executed, acknowl-
|

edged and recorded according to laws, in their discretion,
|
|
|
|
the whole or any part of the land belonging to the said
|
|
|
|
corporation lying on the north side of the road bed of the
|
|
|
|
Catonsville Short Line Railroad Company, and between
|
|
|
|
the said railroad and the Frederick turnpike road, and to
|
|
|
|
invest the ?? proceeds of said sale or sales in such man-
|

ner as in their judgment may be most advantageous for the

|
|
|
purpose of the said hospital ; provided, the same shall be
|
|
|
|
submitted to the Governor and approved by him.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
|
|
|
|
from the date of its passage.
|
Effective.
