CHAPTER 307.


AN ACT to add an additional section to article 4 of the


Public Local Laws, title "Baltimore City," to be known


as section 148 A, under the sub-title of condemnation


authorizing the mayor and city council to condemn pro-


perty for public purposes, and to provide methods of con-


demnation.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General • Assemlby of

New

Maryland, That the following additional section be added

sections.

to article 4 of the Public Local Laws, title "City of Balti-


more," to be known as section 148 A, under the sub-title of


condemnation.


148 A. The mayor and city council of Baltimore shall


have power to acquire by purchase or condemnation, any

School
houses,

land or property or interest therein, which they may require

engine
houses, &c

for school-houses, engine-houses, court-houses, markets,


bridges and their approaches, the establishment or enlarge-


ment of parks, squares, gardens, or other public places, or


for any other public or municipal purpose ; and may provide


such methods of condemnation of any land or property, or


interest therein, situated, wholly or partly within the city


of Baltimore as they may deem proper; under such pro-


ceedure as they may adopt, they shall provide for reasonable


notice to the owner, or owners, and for appeals to the Balti-


more City Court, by any person interested, including the


mayor and city council, from the decision of any commis-


sioners or other persons appointed to value any such land


or property, or interest therein. Nothing herein contained


shall be construed as depriving the mayor and city council


of any power of condemnation for any purpose already


vested in them.


SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall

CHAPTER 308.

AN ACT to authorize the "Commissioners of Brookeville,"
in Montgomery County, to incur a debt for the purpose of
paving the side-walks of said town.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
