or affirmation shall be taken and subscribed by each officer


of registration appointed to act in the City of Baltimore


before a member of the board of supervisors of the election


in the City of Baltimore, or before the clerk of said board


and the said oath or affirmation shall be taken and sub-


scribed by each officer of registration appointed to act


within a county of this State before the clerk of the Circuit


Court for the county in which he is appointed to act ; said


respective oaths or affirmation shall be entered and sub-


scribed in a test book to be by said (board of supervisors of


election in the City of Baltimore, and by said clerks of the


Circuit Courts for the several counties respectively) pro-


vided for this purpose.


SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take


effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 306.


AN ACT to repeal section 3 of article 9 of the Code of Public


Local Laws, title "Charles County," sub-title " Alms-


house," and re-enact the same with amendments, to


regulate the appointment of trustees of the poor in said


county.


SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of


Maryland, That section 3 of article 9 of the Code of Public

every year, the county commissioners shall appoint five

said county, who shall hold their office for the term of one


year from the date of their appointment and until the


qualification of their successors, subject however, to removal


at the pleasure cf the county commissioners ; and whenever


a vacancy shall exist in said board of trustees from any


cause, it shall be the duty of the county commissioners to


fill such vacancy at their uext meeting.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this act shall take effect


from the date of its passage.
